Rangers are on the brink of sealing the signature of Wolfsburg winger Andreas Skov Olsen, but the Gers are not stopping there in their quest to strengthen Danny Rohl’s attacking ranks.

Olsen set for Ibrox medical on Wednesday

Rangers have already secured impressive midfielder Tochi Chukwuani and are on the brink of adding their second new face of the winter window in the shape of 26 year-old Olsen.

The Danish winger has been pulled from his side’s Bundesliga clash with St Pauli today so he can travel to complete his medical at Ibrox.

Joining on loan, Olsen has struggled with the German club but was a consistent force of end product for former club Club Brugge, where he racked up 30 assists in 124 games, and will now be tasked with supplying chances for the likes of Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski.

Rohl is keen to add further competition for places in the attacking areas however, with Sky Sports’ Keith Downie sharing the latest on their next pursuit.

Downie revealed on Wednesday afternoon that the signing of Olsen has not slowed Rangers’ interest in Sunderland forward Romaine Mundle.

The 22 year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game this season and “wants more game time” in the second half of the campaign, according to Downie.

Hailed as “exceptional” by former teammate Jack Clarke, Mundle has scored six times in 45 appearances for Sunderland, albeit most of those have come from the bench.

The 22 year-old is extremely versatile, capable of playing on either wing, further back in midfield or even as a centre forward, but is at his best on the left flank where he can cut inside onto his stronger right foot.

Mundle was born in London but has the option to declare for Jamaica internationally through his father.
