Some Everton fans have taken to Twitter to hurl criticism at Michael Keane, after the defender certainly played his part in a humiliating 3-1 loss to Bournemouth.
The Toffees sunk to a loss against Eddie Howe’s side after two goals from Callum Wilson and a free-kick from Ryan Fraser ensured that Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s equaliser shortly before half-time meant nothing.
In Keane’s case, the England international was poor. Him and Yerry Mina looked devoid of understanding throughout – Wilson’s second goal in which he simply latched onto a long ball proved that – and the stats don’t make for good reading.
The former Burnley man didn’t make a single interception or record a single block against the Cherries as Wilson and Fraser ran riot.
One fan called Keane an “absolute liability”, whilst another expressed confusion at how the 26-year-old is an England international.
